Gaetan Borgers is the Global Solar Industry Director at Dow Corning, in charge of the Dow Corning Solar Solutions, a very rapidly growing business that aims at developing and commercializing material solutions for the photovoltaic industry. Based at Dow Corning Corporation in Midland Michigan, he sets the strategic directions of the business and ensures their operational implementation across all functions. He reports to the VP and General Manager of the Advanced Technology and Venture Business. Mr. Borgers joined Dow Corning in 1988.
He spent the earlier years of his career in supply chain and manufacturing leadership roles before switching to the business area where he was Alliances & Acquisition manager and New Business Development manager in the plastic and opto-electronic field.
He also acted for Dow Corning as director of the board in a battery
start-up. Gaetan Borgers obtained a master degree in Chemical Process Engineering then a Business and Administration degree at the University Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium
Gaetan Borgers will present an update on Dow Corning's commitment to Solar, the successful launch of the first commercially available solar-grade (SoG) silicon derived from metallurgical silicon, Dow Cornings continued progress and future
plans.
