JFE'S Metallurgical Process for Authentic SOG Silicon

JFE Steel has resumed the development of Solar Grade Silicon processing using the metallurgical method, and began commercial production at the beginning of this year. 

In addition, by the end of the year, JFE will increase the yield to an annual production of 400 tons. The manufacturing process is structured similarly to the process that was conducted by the former Kawasaki Steel Corporation until 2001, which was commissioned by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). 

JFE Steel has significantly improved this technology at every single stage of the process.
