Thomas Hengst is Vice President and Head of the PV division of Roth & Rau AG as well as General Manager of Roth & Rau Shanghai Co., Ltd. 

He has worked in the photovoltaic industry for more than 6 years. Mr. Hengst has played a major role in the development of Roth & Rau´s inline PECVD systems and the successful establishment of this platform on the photovoltaic market. He has been Roth & Rau´s representative in Asia for the last 4 years. In this capacity, he has supported a large number of solar cell manufacturers in setting up production facilities and consulting on process and equipment questions.

Mr. Hengst has been decisively involved in developing Roth & Rau as an international market leader in equipment manufacturing and as a turnkey key solutions provider in solar cell manufacturing.

Prior to joining Roth & Rau, Mr. Hengst worked as senior consultant and project lead for a large international consulting company, as a co-owner of an IT company in Germany and as project manager/engineer in power plant engineering and construction. He represents Roth & Rau in various domestic and international boards.
