The recent silicon supply bottleneck has attracted many Asian companies to invest in silicon production capacities. Around 600 people attended last year’s Solar Silicon Conference in Shenzhen to see the most promising Asian players presenting their business plans. While the mid-term prospects for solar look very good, today these newcomers are confronted with dramatically decreasing prices for silicon.
